Softball for Chalfont, New Britain, Doylestown & Warrington Area
Welcome to Lenape Valley Girls Softball
LVGS offers Intramural and Travel Softball Programs for girls (and women) from age 4 to 23. We are a 100% Volunteer Organization. Without volunteers to run the programs, the league can not exist.
Our home fields are at New Britain Township's North Branch Park, 207 Park Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914. The fields (#1, #2, & #3) are located directly behind the New Britain Township Administration (and Police) building.
There are two Intramural softball seasons at LVGS. The Spring season which runs from late March through mid June; and our Fall ball program which runs from September to early November. Spring Intramural softball offers U6, U8, U10, U13, U14, U18, and U23 divisions. The Fall program is more limited offering U8, U10, U13, and U14 programs.
Travel Softball begins with tryouts in August. The teams practice and play games throughout the Fall, parctice through the winter, and have thier 'season' from late March through the end of July. The Lenape Valley Girls Softball Travel Teams are the "Fury". The cost of Travel is substantially higher than Intramural and requires a full time commitment to softball.
Throughout the year LVGS also offers Clinics for girls looking to improve their skills. Clinics are for girls 8+ years old. Fall and Spring Clinics are outdoors at North Branch Park. Winter Clinics are held at an indoor facility.
LVGS is a Member of ASA, the Amateur Softball Association. ASA breaks down divisions by 2 year age groups, based upon participants age as of January 1. The ASA divisions are U6, U8, U12, U14, and U18. Lenape Valley Girls Softball has expanded the U12 division to a U13 division for girls that enjoy Intramural but do not want to travel beyond North Branch Park. Our U14 program has only enough players, so we play teams from other communities like Doylestown, North Penn, Deep Run (Hilltown), etc.
If you have any questions about our program, or would like to make LVGS continue, please contact us.

Lenape Valley Girls Softball Fall Ball program is designed for girls that want to play more softball throughout the year. Fall is when girls move up to the age bracket they will play in next spring. (So, for example: if your daughter played 6U in Spring of 2015 and will be eligible to play 8U in the 2016 Spring she can play 8U fall ball THIS year.)
In the past few years with being personally involved with both Spring and Fall Ball, I (and most of the coaches) can personally attest to the fact that the girls that play Fall Ball (especially as move ups to the next age bracket) have a lot of fun and become much better players overall.
Softball activities generally begin the first weekend in September. Fall ball starts with a couple of team practices and then right into games on Sunday afternoons only against other local community teams. We play other teams in the immediate area such as Doylestown, Warrington, Deep Run etc. Instruction time is limited as the focus is on getting the girls playing time in game situations to prepare for 2016 Spring softball.
The 8U teams use 'Machine Pitch' during the Fall ball program and the older teams use “player pitch.” Last year we fielded three - 8U teams, two - 10U teams and two - 12U (almost had a 3rd) teams and we all had a lot of fun!
It is a lot more laid back than the Spring ball. We keep scores but do not keep win loss records or hold playoff games etc. It’s all about playing a little more softball and having fun!
